With the acquisition of Benedict Slurry Seal, Bergkamp builds, sells, and supports all Benedict Slurry Seal laboratory testing equipment for slurry seal and micro surfacing. This equipment was pioneered by industry legend Robert ‘Ben’ Benedict, foundational in making slurry seal and micro surfacing a reliable pavement preservation treatment that it is today. Each piece is designed and manufactured to meet all ISSA guidelines and is the only lab testing equipment specifically designed for the industry.

Known as the expert of emulsion in the slurry seal and microsurfacing industry, Robert ‘Ben’ Benedict was named the first Technical Director of the ISSA due to his contributions to the reliability and performance of slurry seal around the globe. Though his lab was small and simple, his research was foundational in making slurry seal and microsurfacing a reliable pavement preservation treatment for the past 40+ years.
